Entertainment Ultrasounds

Commercial ultrasound machines found in malls and whatnot, or purchased for home ultrasound machines, may not be safe.

Professional Sonographers
Ultrasound is safe as long as it's applied by professional sonographers or ultrasound technologists. Commercial ultrasound machines and home ultrasound machines are not sold with a professional sonographer course or license, therefor they are risky.

Yale University School of Medicine reported in August 2006 that exposure to prolonged ultrasound waves can inhibit proper cell migration, known as neuronal migration, in mouse fetus' brains. While this doesn't prove any danger to humans, it does raise some questions.

It is still not a good idea to expose yourself or your unborn child to ultrasound administered by anyone except a professional sonographer operating a full blown ultrasound machine such as the elaborate professional ultrasound machines made by Biosound, a world leader in medical imaging, and sold exclusively in America by DrSmart.com - Smartsound Ultrasound.
